Omori Kuratau Fishing Competition Rules 2023 1. The Omori Kuratau Charitable Trust reserves the right to not accept or return an entry 2. All contestants MUST register prior to commencing fishing in the competition. 3. A valid Taupo fishing licence must be produced at registration. Licences can be purchased via online - https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/buy-a-taupo-fishing-licence-online/ Licences are also available at the Omori Store. 4. In accordance with Lake Taupo Maritime regulations, boats must have the appropriate safety gear for all occupants of the boat and the responsibility for all people remains with the skipper who must operate their boat in accordance with safe boating practices. 5. No consumption of alcohol is allowed as this is a family event. 6. Communication devices such as a mobile phone need to be on board. Chanel 61 will be used for any urgent messages to boat anglers. 7. Fishing is permitted in Lake Taupo and its tributaries specified in the Anglers Notice for Taupo District 2018, with the exception of Lake Otamangakau where NO FISHING is permitted for this competition. (DOC requirement). 8. The weigh in station will be located at the Omori Kuratau Community Centre. Only ONE fish per day may be weighed in 9. Anglers must comply with the requirements of the Taupo Fishery Regulations 2004 and the Anglers Notice for Taupo District 2018. All legal methods and tackle specified in the Anglers Notice for Taupo District 2018 are permitted for this competition. Anglers are required to complete a competition form specifying the catch location, time and method used for each fish weighed in the competition. (DOC requirement) 10. Only trout measuring 35 cm or more from the tip of the snout to the fork of the tail are eligible. Marked or tagged fish WILL NOT be eligible for a prize. (DOC requirement) All fish will be clipped at weigh in 11. In the event of more than one angler winning a category, the winner will be determined by the first name drawn 12. The committee reserves the right to allocate 1 prize per contestant.

Costs: o Adult $35 which includes 3 tickets in the raffles that have been kindly donated. o Youth (13-18yrs) and Junior (under 13years) $15 If registered as Junior then only Junior prizes are available.
